Have you always wanted to ride a horse?  Perhaps you haven't since you were a kid, and now have the time again.  Or your child has worn out the couch springs bouncing along to "The Saddle Club" and old Roy Rogers shows on TV, and heads straight for the pony rides no matter what else is going on at the fair.   Satisfy that longing, and join me for a safe and fun riding experience, customized for your ability, your ambitions, and your time.  I work with children and adults, and really enjoy sharing my horses and my experience with my students.  Whether your goal is to acquire your own horse, or just enjoy the company of mine every week, my lessons will help you feel confident and comfortable around horses.   

Many of my students are involved in gymkhana and junior rodeo.  Even my beginning students learn to follow the patterns at slower speeds as they develop their riding skills.  This helps them to plan ahead, follow multiple-step directions, and to use their legs and seat as well as the reins to communicate with their horses. 

If you already own a horse, there are times when the two of you reach an impasse that you're unable to cross alone.   Some of my clients have me ride their horses regularly to keep them tuned up, others only when they need help on a specific issue.  Because I ride the way I teach, I am able to help clarify for the horse what their everyday rider is trying to achieve,  so my work with the horse enables him to understand his rider's cues, even when they are still learning the technique, and therefore aren't spot-on.  It is one of my favorite parts of my job, because horses don't need me to talk with them in words!  On the other hand, who among us has not heard a horse tell us in no uncertain terms, "NO!"  It's one of my great pleasures to elicit a "well, maybe..." and then finally a "Cool!  Let's do that again!" from a formerly unenthused or uncomprehending horse.
